Filstar Bio-Chem Zorb Pouch $13.95 725A
Quantity
Often described as activated carbon on steroids, Bio-Chem Zorb is a unque blend of ion-exchange resins, scavenger resins and activated carbon. This provides the ultimate in organic filtration wtih added benefit of not leaching phosphate into the tank. The pouch is an exact replacement for the original pouch included with the XP Filter.

Filstar Nitra Zorb Pouch $12.95 726A
Quantity
Nitra-Zorb is the first water filtration medium that removes ammonia, nitrite and nitrate in freshwater aquariums. Nitra-Zorb is a blend of natural and synthetic ion-exchange resins that selectively removes ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. Nitra-Zorb, when used in new aquariums, controls the level of toxic ammonia and nitrite during the initial development of the biological filter. In established aquariums, Nitra-Zorb helps control sudden spikes in ammonia and nitrite from the addition of new fish or anytime ammonia or nitrite is detected.

Filstar Phos Zorb Pouch $9.99 727A
Quantity
Phos-Zorb is a special filtration material that selectively removes phosphate and silicate, common nutrients found in fresh and saltwater aquariums. In saltwater aquariums, excess phosphate lowers the available calcium and magnesium necessary for the growth of hard corals and other invertebrates.

Filstar Water Softener Pillow Pouch $13.95 728A
Quantity
The Water Softener Pillow removes hard water minerals and toxic heavy metals from aquarium water. It consists of a special "pillow" that fits into the RENA Filstar Canister Filter, providing continuous removal of minerals and heavy metals. Providing an aquarium with softer water improves fish health and can prevent unsightly mineral deposits from forming on the aquarium surfaces. Many fishes, such as tetras, angelfish and South American cichlids prefer the soft water common to the Amazon River Basin, (50 to 100 pm GH, typically). The Water Softener Pillow helps to re-create the soft water found in many tropical areas of the world where aquarium fish come from. Maintaining a stable aquarium environment is much easier when using the Water Softener Pillow.

Filstar Super Activited Carbon Pouch $13.95 $6.99 On Sale! 729A
Quantity
The highest grade of activated carbon made especially for filtering aquarium water. It has 5 times the adsorptive power of standard charcoal. Super Activated Carbon removes dissolved organic waste that stresses tropical fish and discolors aquarium water.

Filstar Zeolite Ammonia Remover Pouch $7.99 730A
Quantity
For chemical neutralizaton of ammonia, zeolite is an excellent choice. Zeolite Ammonia Remover is a natural ammonia-removing mineral for use in freshwater aquariums. It works well in both newly set-up aquariums to help prevent "new tank syndrome" and in established aquariums to prevent sudden "surges" in ammonia. Zeolite Ammonia Remover is fully rechargeable and works in all types of freshwater aquariums.

Filstar Bio-Chem Stars 20 Ct. $19.95 731A
Quantity
Bio-Chem Stars are a biological filtration medium that provides a substrate for the optimal growth of beneficial bacteria. Their internal pore structure is formed under a patented process that creates a 50-70 micron internal pore network. This pore size is optimal for the growth of beneficial bacteria, including nitrifying bacteria that remove toxic ammonia and nitrite. It also allows the best oxygen and water transfer through the star, which keeps bacterial colonies healthy and active. Because of this complete internal colonization, Bio-Chem Stars are the most efficient biological filter medium available for use in FilStar Canister Power Filters and Rena SmartFilters.

Filstar Ceramic Rings $20.95 732A
Quantity
Ceramic Rings are specially designed for use in all FilStar filters. They have a higher cumulative pore volume per liter than standard biological media used in most canister filters. Their highly porous, hollow design effectively distributes water flow and allows massive colonies of beneficial bacteria to grow on and inside each ring, creating an ideal "biological filter." FilStar Ceramic Rings create the ideal substrate for the growth of nitrifying bacteria that remove toxic ammonia and nitrite from aquarium water. They will not break down in the filter or alter pH or water hardness.

Filstar Micro Filtration Pads (3pk) $7.99 733A
Quantity
The microfilter pads are the final stage in the mechanical filtration of the aquarium with the Rena Filstar external filter. These will remove the smallest of particulate matter and are used to "polish' the water.

Filstar Dual Density Micro Filter (2pk) $8.99 734A
Quantity
NEW! Dual-density microfilter pads are the final stage in the mechanical filtration of the aquarium with the Rena Filstar external filters. These will remove the smallest of particulate matter and are used to "polish' the water. These dual-layer pads will last twice as long as the standard micro-filter. Each pad is two layers with coarse density fibers in one layer for trapping larger particles and a finer denisity which traps the smallest debris. This design allows the larger particles to be trapped in the first layer while the second layer traps the remaining finer particles. The benefit is that the bottom layer is able to trap more particles before saturation which reduces the frequency of cleaning and overall filter maintenance.
